Lee Abbey Aston Household Community
We are a small ecumenical Christian community of adults, part of the wider Lee Abbey Movement, committed to living and working in a multi-faith, multi-racial, inner-city area. We all live in a large Victorian house with six bedrooms; it was refurbished two years ago, and now has a dedicated prayer room as the centre of our community life.
We meet together every weekday for prayer, and eat together as often as is practicable. We share the tasks of shopping, cleaning, cooking and entertaining, and pool our wages or benefits, receiving a weekly amount for personal use. We have a community car, but prefer to use public transport or cycle whenever possible.
We try to reach decisions by consensus, and are committed to spending time together, supporting, encouraging and listening to each other. We do paid and voluntary work, spend time with local folk, offer hospitality, and share our faith as and when appropriate. Each of us is an active member of a local fellowship or church, and we want to deepen our faith.
We are looking for people to join us as we seek to communicate Christ through our relationships, in our life together, and in the local community. Enquiries welcome.
