Woodhead Community
After 18 successful years as a small family and land-based community near the Findhorn Foundation, change is at hand in the Woodhead Community. Our children are growing up and moving on, and we are looking to welcome new people into our group.
Our committed core group currently consists of Nine adults and two young boys aged 3 and 4 years.
As a rental option we currently have space for one or two other people living in a small caravan with a glassed extension. This has cooking facilities but no shower or toilet. They would have to use the nearby communal facilities, which include a shower room and a big kitchen/dining room used for our shared meals. It is also possible to stay with us doing Wwoofing work exchange.
We endeavour to balance the needs of individually earning a living with the joys and challenges of being in close relationship, sharing resources and growing our own food. Besides the sharing of community responsibilities, we also engage in artistic, political and ecological debate and action. We encourage clear and honest interaction, and a growing personal awareness of what moves us spiritually.
We want to continue our shared life with a broad cultural and age range of people. We envisage retaining rhythms such as shared cooking for evening meals, food-buying, car-pool and working together once a week. We also welcome new inspiration and input.
