We are farming cooperative and intentional community in rural Herefordshire. We are made up of a main house, stable block and garden cottage that provide 19 self-contained leasehold living spaces of varying sizes. Together we number about 29 adults and 21 children ranging from babes in arms to wise seventy year olds.
We make our decisions by consensus, and make much of our food based on our hard labour and good times in the gardens, pollys or fields. We eat together weekly and are fortunate to have the facilities to host public events to share the place with basket weavers, pilates classes and music lovers utilising the various spaces and rooms we share. There are communal workspaces for metal and woodwork.
Our 40 acres mixed farm follows organic principles in raising a variety of animals including dairy and beef cattle, goats, sheep and chickens. The large walled garden produces year-round veg from year round work, with some help from WWOOFers. We have plenty of space for picnics, parties, kids play areas and even a swimming pool and lake.
We recently installed PV and a district biomass heating system that supplies much of our heat and electricity and helps us be as sustainable as possible.
