Shekinashram is an Ashram and Holistic Retreat Centre and, in its four years of being, has evolved into a dedicated sacred space and place of worship devoted to spiritual practice, karma yoga (selfless service) and transformation; offering a place of peace, healing and sanctuary. A blend of eastern and western wisdom is reflected here at the Ashram. It reflects the different paths each may tread on the journey of self-discovery.
Shekinashram community consists of the rich tapestry of whoever is staying/visiting/helping at any one time, whatever the duration. There is no formal teaching offered, rather, Ashram life is based upon a set of Principles. The principle of living a truthful life is the central precept. All denominations are welcome. Puja, Kirtan and Meditating together starts each day, followed by the Shekinashram Superfood Smoothie! The community enjoys a strictly vegan, largely raw food diet, prepared by many loving hands (residents and volunteers), including those of visitors if they want to get involved.
A karma yoga (volunteer) exchange programme is available for those who want to share in this way of living for up to 2 weeks. Accommodation is available for both short-term paying visitors, ie B&B, and longer term, such as those who wish to undertake a personal retreat for one week or more. There is also a programme of events, workshops and focused retreats, and we also offer one to one therapeutic treatments. Much more information is available on the website.
