Camphill Houses is based in and around the busy town of Stourbridge, on the urban rural fringe to the south-west of Birmingham. Our Camphill community has been assisting adults with learning disabilities and other special needs for more than 30 years, with a supported living programme designed to enable each individual to find his or her own direction in life and an appropriate degree of self-reliance.
Our community is fully integrated into the life of the town. A range of supported accommodation is available to meet different needs. Four houses close to the centre of Stourbridge, and one just outside the town, provide a home life in an extended-family atmosphere, with residents living with our support workers and their families.
Those with greater independence have the opportunity to share a flat or house, or have independent accommodation on their own. All are socially attached to one of the larger households and may come to the household for a meal, for help with money and budgeting, or whatever other support is needed. A comfortable and secure home environment helps build the confidence needed to manage in the wider world outside.
