We’re a housing co-operative that’s been around for over ten years, a mile or so away from the city centre in what is one of the most culturally diverse cities in Britain. We arose from the radical student population of the early 1990s via New Education Housing Co-op and are members of Radical Routes and take part in an awful lot of different things. We’ve got two big, beautiful houses 100 yards away from each other, one a five-bedroom Georgian style and the other an eight-bedroomed Grade II listed mansion with office space and a big community room, both of which we rent out to other organisations or else use ourselves for parties, meetings etc. We are a lively group of people that like living collectively and are very diverse in both ages, views and diet, but very definitely are alternative. Our kitchens are collectively vegetarian and communal meals are optional and arise spontaneously, along with our parties. We are always looking for new members to help us run everything and to replace the ones that have moved on; if you would like to find out more, drop us a line. We are also open to visitors and friends popping in, but ring us first.
